TREATMENTS & SERVICES

Sports Therapy Sessions

An initial consultation and assessment of your pain, injury or dysfunction followed by a primary course of treatment and customised plan of action for your rehabilitation.

We have the tools and expertise to treat you in different ways that might be appropriate to the issue you present.  That may be as simple as hands-on soft tissue manipulation techniques, or we may suggest that Medical Acupuncture (Dry Needling) or Myofascial Dry Cupping could offer greater results. We'll explain all options before proceeding with a treatment, and you can decide for yourself what you would prefer to try.

Book your follow up sessions here too.

Massage

Typically, clients who visit a Sports Therapy Clinic for massage treatments are seeking relief from deep underlying muscle tension or discomfort in a specific area of the body, or they are seeking assistance with recovery from intense or prolonged activity.

If you feel like you need a thorough Deep-Tissue Massage to ease pain or tension, or you want a rejuvenating Sports Massage to compliment your training and recovery routine, we've got you covered!

We can also provide wonderfully relaxing Swedish Massage sessions to help your mind and body relax and reset, just keep in mind that a clinic inside a skatepark isn't always the most calm and quiet environment for this kind of treatment.

Sessions are available in 30, 60 and 90 minute slots throughout the day.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release (MFR) is a highly effective, hands-on therapy that targets the fascia — the connective tissue that surrounds and supports muscles, bones, and organs throughout the body. Over time, due to injury, stress, poor posture, or repetitive movement, the fascia can become tight, restricted, and painful, leading to a wide range of physical discomforts and imbalances. Myofascial Release works to gently stretch, soften, and realign these tissues, restoring ease of movement and relieving chronic pain at its source.

During a session, we apply sustained, gentle pressure to identify and release fascial restrictions. Unlike traditional massage, MFR does not rely on oil or lotion and is performed directly on dry skin to allow for precise engagement with the fascia. The technique is slow and intentional, allowing the tissue to naturally release at its own pace, rather than forcing change. Clients often experience a deep sense of relaxation, improved mobility, and long-lasting relief after treatment.

Myofascial Release is suitable for a wide range of conditions including chronic neck and back pain, headaches, postural imbalances, and recovery from injury or surgery. Whether you're an athlete seeking enhanced performance or someone dealing with everyday aches and tension, MFR offers a personalised and holistic approach to healing and body awareness.

Core Strength
Crash Courses

Core Strength, or the lack of it, is often blamed for people who suffer with problems ranging from lower back pain to poor balance or limited functional coordination. There are some strands of truth amongst the myths, but few coaches or personal trainers really know how to teach people to activate their core correctly, never mind train it effectively.

At Mountain Sports Therapy we can teach you what muscles contribute to the 'core' group, how and why to activate them correctly when you train, compete or just during day to day activity.

We'll work through some different movement drills and exercises to help you see and feel the difference immediately. You'll then leave with a personalised exercise plan to incorporate into your everyday training routine to help you develop that 'bulletproof' core.

Once you've mastered the ability to stabilise your core to protect your spine during activity, we'll take things up to the next level so that you can mobilise your core to maximise your ability to move your spine through all of its ranges of motion safely, effectively and confidently.

Movement Improvement Courses

Do you train regularly at the gym because you know you should keep fit, but you haven't noticed much change and don't know if what you're doing is effective? You don't really want to pay a Personal Trainer every week but you know, deep down, that you're probably not maximising your potential on your own. Or even worse, you keep picking up little niggles or pains that affect how hard you can train?

This is where Mountain Sports Therapy can help, by teaching you the basics of how the body moves, how you can train effectively to hit all the target areas and avoid neglecting any muscles or movement ranges that could result in imbalance or injury in the future.

Our one-off sessions are available as four individual lessons to learn effective exercises for developing strength through the full range of motion for your shoulders, spine, hips, and 'knees, ankles and feet'.  Book one on it's own or talk to us about discounts for booking all four together to take your self-awareness and training capacity to the next level!
